Academic Success of Year 13 Class of 2024 - News - Rongotai College


The Rongotai College community congratulates our Year 13 Class of 2024 on their wonderful academic success. There were many great individual performances and achievements across the group, and we commend all of our Year 13 students for achieving their academic goals for the year.

As a group, our Year 13 Class of 2024 had an exceptional year with an NCEA pass rate of 83.1%. This compares to 65.7% for boys across New Zealand, while boys who attended Co-educational schools achieved a pass rate of only 60.5%.

19 members of the Class of 2024 were awarded Academic Honours for achieving NCEA with Excellence. Congratulations to the following students: Timothee Ausseil, Callum Baker, Otis Baker, Nic Ball, Charlie Crawford, Harry Cregeen, Angus Galloway, Luke Hardy, Joseph Hilawi, Connor McCorry, Manawa Mitcalfe Matthews, Fred Pilgrim, Hayden Poad, Nysi Soulis (2024 Head Prefect), Quentin Stark, Oli Stewart, Sam Streeter, Rico Taylor and Ayman Zewada.

The College community congratulates 2024 Dux of the College Rico Taylor as our highest academic achiever in NCEA. Rico gained Excellence in all 112 credits he entered for in his Level 3 courses, with a Grade Point Average of 100. In addition, Rico gained New Zealand Scholarships in Calculus and in Physics.Rico

We also wish to acknowledge and congratulate the tremendous achievements of Ayman Zewada, who in addition to gaining Level 3 with Excellence, was awarded New Zealand Scholarships in English and Media Studies and an Outstanding Scholarship in Spanish, where he finished 1st in New Zealand.20116

Proxime Accessit, Hayden Poad, was also awarded a New Zealand Scholarship in Calculus.

The College is incredibly proud of the Year 13 Class of 2024 and all they have achieved, and wishes them success in their chosen endeavours. We look forward to hearing the many stories of their future successes.
